Madison College West Campus
Challenge: Change the original layout of several small offices into an inspiring and professional learning environment. Smart classrooms, technology needs, culinary classes, bring it on.
Growing need: Madison College worked with the building landlord to move their west campus location to the Old Sauk Business Park. The Excelsior Drive building was remodeled by Iconica during the fall and completed in time for spring semester classes.
Creative layout: Previously the building held several small offices. Iconica’s architects took details of the existing structure and worked on a plan to fit the needs of the school. The final design solution allowed for technology-filled classrooms, science labs, a commercial kitchen for culinary classes, offices and updated bathrooms.
Heating and cooling recipe: The engineering team created a detailed plan that would serve the mechanical needs for the culinary and science labs (think multiple sinks, power to multiple industrial outlets, handwashing stations, eye wash shower) and all of the new technology needed. To achieve this complete upgrade, several new electrical panels were installed along with a very detailed plumbing plan to bring water through to multiple classrooms.
Interior solution: The Iconica team worked in conjunction with the school to make sure all their needs were met for student accessibility, durability, and future growth.
Remodel is back in session: Madison College is remodeling again to bring more classroom space to the west side campus. Iconica will be building more offices for staff, meeting rooms, and classrooms to help keep up with the growing need for students and staff.
