Meet the Team: Leann Paull-Anderson

What is your name?
Leann Paull-Anderson

How long have you worked at Iconica?
5 years

What is your role?
I am a Project Assistant, meaning that I work with the project manager, superintendents, architects and more, throughout the building process to help make sure that the process is running efficiently and smoothly from start to finish.

Are you a morning or night person?
I’m definitely a morning person.

What are some of your favorite projects that you have worked on at Iconica?
I have really enjoyed being part of all the senior housing projects. It’s been a lot of fun to work with Tukka properties and to see the project go from the ground up.

Do you prefer pop tarts hot or cold?
Cold, and it has to be the strawberry kind.

What does a typical day look like for you?
Honestly, the project assistants have a lot of variety in each of our days. I am often pulled in 15 different directions within 10 minutes. It keeps me on my toes and at the top of my game. I love it.

What do you do in your free time?
Lately, my grandbabies have been the focus of my time. They are both little bundles of energy. When I am not with them though, I really enjoy redoing and repurposing furniture…Studio 184 in Stoughton is awesome!!

What is your dream vacation?
There is no way that I can pick just one. Fiji would be amazing of course; an Alaskan Cruise has always been on my bucket list and I would love to spend a month in Europe.

If you were not involved in the construction field, what would you want to do?
I would own my own coffee shop. I would have coffee and baked goods with lots of space for people to work.

How do you like your coffee?
Black, just like any good Norwegian drinks their coffee!

Do you find a benefit to having so many professions under one roof?
Absolutely. The work style here is incredibly helpful to be able to move things along quickly. I came from not having the design field in my prior job and would have to send submittals through to the architect to approve in other cities and even states. Here, I can take a walk across the office and talk to someone in person, they have an answer, if not right then, later that day.

What is the best advice that your parents gave you?
Always treat others the way you want to be treated.

How did you get into this profession?
Originally, I was involved in the mortgage business. After a while, I realized that was not for me and I needed a change of pace. So, at that time I turned to waitressing. I waitressed for about two weeks before I was offered a job as a Project Assistant for a commercial builder. Although I’ve since been with a few different companies, I have been part of the industry ever since!

What TV show are you currently watching?
Virgin River!

What do you typically sing in the car?
I will sing just about everything and anything. My favorite is to hit “random” on my playlist when I am with other people, one minute we will be rocking out to ACDC and the next we will be singing The Sound of Music. Their reaction is typically priceless, but I love the mix of soundtracks.

Biggest positive to come from Covid?
I count my blessings that my family has been able to come through happy and healthy thus far, and just pray that we all continue that way.
