Emma has known she wanted to pursue architecture since middle school. Drawn to both math…
Meet Devin, Architect at Iconica
“When I was young, I was constantly drawing, designing, and using my imagination to play. I’ve also always liked and excelled at math and science. In middle school, I took an aptitude test that said I should either become an engineer or an artist. I chose to combine those paths and become an architect. My passion for architecture really started to grow from there.”
That early combination of creative thinking and technical curiosity still shows up in how he approaches design today. At Iconica, that mindset fits naturally into a design-build process where architectural ideas are shaped alongside engineering and construction from the very beginning.
Involvement with AIA Wisconsin and Giving Back to the Profession
Devin’s connection to architecture extends beyond his day-to-day work. He has been actively involved in AIA since his time at UW-Milwaukee, where he first joined as a student member through AIAS.

“I’ve been involved with AIA since my days at UW-Milwaukee as an AIAS (student) member. Back then, I saw it as a way to network and find connections within a profession I had no prior contacts or family connections in. Since then, it has morphed into a way for me to give back to a profession that I feel has already given me so much.”
That early networking effort has grown into leadership. Today, Devin serves on the AIA Wisconsin Southwest chapter board, beginning a three-year leadership track.
He shares:
“Through conversations at last year’s AIA Wisconsin conference, I ended up serving a 3-year term with the AIA WI Southwest chapter. I am currently serving year one as the Southwest chapter’s Secretary Treasurer and will subsequently serve as the Vice President and President over the next two years.”
His involvement reflects a commitment not only to his own growth, but to strengthening the profession as a whole.
Life Outside of Architecture
Outside of work, Devin stays active and enjoys a mix of outdoor activities, travel, and hands-on projects.

“My wife and I like to go for walks and bike rides, play tennis and pickleball, go camping and canoe camping, and of course, there’s always landscaping improvements and gardening.”
When the weather shifts, so do his hobbies.
“When the weather is bad, I enjoy hosting board game nights and building LEGO. When the weather is nice, I try to take advantage and get outside, whether that be by doing home renovation projects in the garage, sneaking out for 9 holes of golf, or grilling out in the backyard and having a drink by the fire.”
Travel is also a big part of his life:
“We also love traveling. We try to do at least one big trip a year and have been known to run off to Florida for a weekend at Disney or Universal.”
