Iconica Wins Three IIDA Wisconsin 2025 Celebrate in Design Awards

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Wisconsin Chapter recognized three of our recent projects in the 2025 Celebrate in Design Awards. These awards celebrate exceptional interior design and honor projects that blend creativity, function, and innovation. We’re honored to see our work among this year’s standouts.

The award-winning projects include Hickory Hill Academy, Madison School & Community Recreation – West, and our very own Iconica Office. Each of these spaces reflects our commitment to thoughtful, purpose-driven design and, in the case of our office, the full integration of architecture, construction, and engineering through our design-build model. Learn more about what makes our winning projects special below.

Iconica’s interior design for Hickory Hill Academy’s new K–8 facility reflects the school’s mission to cultivate compassionate leaders through flexible, engaging spaces that promote creativity and connection. A dynamic, double-height multipurpose room anchors the building, transitioning seamlessly from cafeteria to community hub, while vibrant elements like reading stairs, colorful window nooks, and a tropical conservatory create moments of joy and reflection. Thoughtful material choices and custom finishes balance aesthetics and budget, resulting in an adaptable, student-centered environment that supports learning, well-being, and growth. MSCR West is a shining example of adaptive reuse, transforming a former big-box store into a vibrant community resource. The design breaks up long corridors with playful flooring patterns, built-in seating alcoves, and carefully placed interior windows that create openness and connection. Program spaces, including a dance studio, art and pottery rooms, and a gymnasium, are unified by a warm, cohesive palette and expressive murals celebrating MSCR’s inclusive mission. These thoughtful design elements turn a previously windowless shell into a welcoming environment that invites creativity, engagement, and belonging. See the entire project here

As a design-build firm, Iconica used its office remodel to showcase the power of integrated architecture, design, and construction. Originally built in the late ’90s, the updated space blends thoughtful design with functionality, creating an inspiring environment for employees and clients. From the bold, blue back-painted glass centerpiece in the lobby to hand-built laminated veneer lumber ceiling details, custom installations like the “Who We Are” wall, and a reimagined Work Café, every element reflects Iconica’s values and craft. This project is not only a showcase of what we do but how we do it through a seamless, collaborative design-build approach. Take a closer look at the project here.

Conclusion

We’re proud to be recognized by the IIDA Wisconsin Chapter and grateful to the clients and partners who trusted us to help shape these spaces. Each award reflects a shared vision, collaborative problem-solving, and a belief that well-designed environments can improve everyday life.
