Reena Memory Care Addition

The market trend in senior housing is moving towards a campus approach that provides opportunities for seniors to age in place from Independent Living to Assisted Living and/or Memory Care. Multiple care options also help spouses remain within close proximity to one another.

The first phase of the Reena Senior Living provided Assisted and Independent Living. Adding a 28-unit Memory Care wing provided more comprehensive options to the community and helped solve the problem of a growing waiting list for memory care in the Fort Atkinson area.

To begin the project, the Iconica design team met with the client to verify and clarify their specific wants, needs, budget, and schedule. The team incorporated industry best practices to provide a fulfilling experience for residents and staff, including thoughtfully planned spaces for activities as well as incorporating cutting-edge technology. The single-story memory care addition allows necessary security with clear visibility and controlled access. The design also prioritized common space for daily interaction and a visually pleasing color palette to complement the existing building.

The Iconica construction team was mindful of the folks residing in the Independent and Assisted Living wings during the eight-month construction period. The team took great care to reduce noise levels, keep the job site clean, and coordinate with the residents’ and staff’s schedules. Respectful attitudes and detailed coordination kept the jobsite safe and the construction project running smoothly and on time.
