Building Connections Beyond Design-Build

We believe great projects go beyond architecture, engineering, and construction—they’re about building connections with the people and communities we serve. This summer, our food truck, ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering), was on the move, helping us celebrate milestones and give back in fun, meaningful ways.

In Waunakee, we celebrated the dry-in milestone at The Goddard School project. With the roof and windows in place, the building was officially sealed off from the elements—a big step forward for this early childhood development center. As the design-build partner on the project, our team has been involved from day one, handling architecture, engineering, interior design, and construction. To mark the occasion, we brought ACE on-site to serve coffee and donuts to the Goddard School team, field staff, and subcontractors. The sunny morning and shared celebration made it a milestone to remember.

From there, ACE continued to roll out across the community. At the UW Credit Union Excelsior Drive project, we celebrated progress on Phase 2 of their full demo and remodel. This phase focuses on transforming the other half of the building into a modern, refreshed workspace for UWCU office staff. The scope includes all new interior finishes as well as exterior upgrades, such as landscaping, exterior concrete, and Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems. To celebrate, we served lunch to UWCU staff and the project team. A well-deserved break and a chance to reflect on how far the project has come.

At Edgewood University Center for Health Sciences, ACE joined the celebration of progress on their new training facility build-out. The project will support hands-on learning for students in health sciences, complete with labs and instructional spaces. A highlight for our team was seeing the unique teaching tools—skeletons and anatomical models—that will help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.

We also had the opportunity to support local organizations. At the Big Brothers Big Sisters Back-to-School Bash, ACE provided complimentary snacks for families and students as they prepared for the new school year. Later in the summer, we joined the Middleton Good Neighbor Festival Parade, handing out candy and stickers while sharing a little Iconica spirit with neighbors along the route. At Walk for Wishes, ACE kept participants fueled with water and snacks as they raised support for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin—a reminder of the impact we can make together.

From construction sites to community celebrations, ACE continues to help us connect in new ways. We’re grateful for the opportunities to celebrate progress, support local organizations, and share moments with neighbors and friends.
