What do you do at Iconica:
I work with clients in the early stages of their projects to help determine project needs, feasibility, project goals and design vision. I focus on the early integration of the architectural process with the engineering, pre-construction and construction disciplines.
What does a regular day look like for you?
Meditation, visualization, meeting new and prospective clients, working with my team, workout, reading, family, personal design work.

What do you love about your job?
I believe that design profoundly impacts people’s lives; the most rewarding aspect of my job is getting to know clients on a personal level and that often leads to crafting design solutions that provide powerful outcomes.
How has design/ architecture/ interior design changed since you started?
A- The technology for design tools, it is a complete game changer for advancing the discipline.
B- Increased attention and need for sustainable energy efficient and resilient design.
C- The blurring of the lines between residential and commercial. I call the new office a new ‘home’ for my clients, blending our work and home life has changed the way we design.

Do you have a dream project?
A project that could elevate the lives of those living, working, and playing together- think deep mixed use commercial/retail, multi-generational flex/residential and agricultural, adaptive re-use development.

“Explore and stay the course for what inspires you — not your friends, your parents, or your teachers.”
“Surround yourself with winners and don’t compromise.”
If you weren’t in the design field what would you be doing?
Bio-engineering research and development. I’m fascinated and amazed by results of evidence based bio-hacking.

What are some of the benefits of working at Iconica as a designer?
The knowledge and experience of all my coworkers pays dividends for myself and clients. I have direct and immediate contact with all departments, and can talk about costs, proformas, and constructability within walking distance of my desk. This enables the opportunity to think bigger, smarter, more holistically about your work.
